Franklin Square
Our Home for Generations Past and For Generations to Come
Franklin Square, beloved hometown of countless families since the founding of our nation, reflects the spirit of America. It is a town with strong families and schools, creative businesses, active local associations, vibrant churches, and competitive sport leagues. It is a town filled with character and rich culture, a town of generosity and service. Neighbors care for each other, look after each other, and remain active in their local community organizations.Â
Franklin Square is loved for both its people and its places. It is a town that, while small compared to a large city, boasts of a large and generous heart. It is a town that has welcomed people from around the world, a town that cares for the young and old, a town that remembers the past with gratitude and looks toward the future with hope.
The love we have for our hometown of Franklin Square motivates us to reflect upon the current reality of our community. Empty and unkept storefronts on Hempstead Turnpike, untidy residential homes and car saturated side-streets, litter and weeds throughout the downtown, and the general concern of feeling ignored by town, county, and state officials have prompted many longtime residents to feel despair at the direction of their hometown.
Today, however, is a new day for Franklin Square. Creative and concerned residents have teamed up to present a plan for renewal and revitalization of our beloved hometown. Together we can be part of a new chapter for Franklin Square.
